Floodlight was started out of an industry need.  

There are many web development firms that provide closed proprietary coding solutions and we see this as a roadblock to innovation. Every aspect of our development process is open to our clients. We develop sites using readily available open-source frameworks and our clients own the rights to the code we develop for them. In situations where custom coding is necessary we develop it in an organized, modular fashion so that it will be easily maintained for many years to come. 

This is not your standard client - vendor relationship.

One of the great benefits we have being a small firm is that we can choose to work with great people. We build strong relationships with all our design firm partners and bridge the gap between the harsh analytical web development environment and the fluidity of creative design. We are coding experts that develop sites the right way.

With the prevalence of freely-available open-source CMS's there has been an industry influx of "developers" that claim expertise with these systems. From what we've seen, the vast majority of these "developers" are modfying and hacking together templated solutions that make your site a nightmere to maintain. @Floodlight we understand how these systems are built and use them as libraries to build your custom branded site. You won't find any unnecessary code or template hacks in our code which makes it easy to maintain and simply searchable by the Google bots.
