Open Source
Go Beyond Static, boring sites.
At Floodlight, we work with the 2 most prominent open source CMS systems: WordPress and Joomla.
We’ve found that our experience with these two systems allow us to meet the needs of our clients and extend their web presence past static brochureware sites. Unlike typical "template" developers we truly understand the core functionality of each of these systems and build custom sites on top of their framework. This allows us to keep our code clean and reap the benefits of future maintenance and security.
WordPress was built with small business owners in mind.
The WordPress admin started focused on the concept of blogging and has expaned into a full CMS solution. With the release of version 3.0 it includes a navigation manager that helps site admins easily manage complex site maps many pages deep. The simplicity of the WordPress's function based code library allows us to quickly create custom plugins and modify existing ones to meet your sites specific needs.
This option is perfect for the business owner that is starting their online web presence and wants an easy way to update content and include a blog.

Joomla is built as a flexible enterprise-level CMS.
Joomla is the most used CMS as far as download statistics and can be customized a great deal to provide a site that is very creatively abstract. The real power behind Joomla is the ability to develop custom components to perform any CMS task from the same dashboard. It also has very strong support for user registration and logins allowing users to purchase subscriptions or make donations through their user account. The flexibility of the system is emphasized with the module manager. It allows website admins to easily move/add/edit modules throughout the positions on their site.
Joomla is the perfect option for businesses that want to utilize their online presence for engaging their target audience via interactive content.
